“When I came home, he was there hurting my baby, he was on top of her,” the woman said. “She was screaming and crying, and that’s when Charlie burst past me and jumped on [the assailant.]”

Charlie, a chocolate Labrador mix adopted from the SPCA, is being hailed as a hero tonight.

Detroit police are looking for a man by the name of Kevin Price, as they say he’s accused of sexually assaulting his common law wife’s 15-year-old daughter.

We’re told the woman came home and saw her daughter being sexually assaulted around five o’clock in the morning at the 15000 block of Marlowe Street.

Apparently, when the woman opened the front door, it allowed the family dog inside where he attacked the suspect.

Here’s the story from LSA News:

Before he could get away, though, we’re told the woman stabbed the suspect several times. If you see the suspect, he will likely be injured.

Price is described as being around 5 feet 7 inches tall and weighing 180 lbs. He has tattoos on his arms and neck, and was last seen wearing jeans and gray Jordans. Police believe he’s likely within a mile of the victim’s home, which is by the intersection of Fenkell and Hubbell avenues.

Police have set up a perimeter around the home and have the help of a K-9 unit. If you see Price or know of his whereabouts, you’re asked to contact Detroit Police.

We’re told the victim has been taken to the hospital to be checked out.

The local news stated that this man is the father of his common law wife’s 3 youngest children and the assaults started several weeks ago when the mother began working an overnight shift. She came home early and caught him raping her daughter. She stabbed him several times and the dog attacked but he was still able to get away.

[UPDATE: Suspect Kevin Price was apprehended at the local hospital where he was seeking treatment for his injuries.]

Is Charlie a hero?

And what should happen to that sleaze rapist?
