Our prayers and warm thoughts are with Chrissy Teigen, her husband John Legend, and their baby Luna. The family announced via Teigen’s Instagram account on Wednesday that their beloved bulldog, Puddy, has passed away.
Teigen first shared news about Puddy’s health troubles last November, when she took to Twitter to announce that the pooch was suffering from heart failure.
Puddy recovered from that incident, but made less appearances on Teigen’s social media accounts following his hospitalization.
Puddy, who was there whenever Teigen “needed a taste tester, someone to kiss or needed to sob into his stinky rolls,” is survived by his French bulldog wife Pippa.
Here’s the story per E! New Online:
They say a dog is man’s best friend—and that definitely rings true for Chrissy Teigen and her family.
Sadly, today Teigen had to say goodbye to her beloved and oldest canine friend, Puddy.
The pregnant model lovingly referred to the bulldog as her “first born,” since the pup was with her and John Legend long before baby Luna was born. The oldest pup is survived by Pablo the bulldog, Penny the frenchie and Pippa the frenchie.
Naturally, the Lip Sync Battle commentator took to social media to share her heartfelt messages for her late friend.
Here’s the post from Teigen’s Instragram account:
“Today our baby, Puddy, has gone on to the pup heavens. John and I got Puddy in our first year of dating, when I convinced him half-birthday presents were a real thing. 10 years ago, on May 30th, I found the dog that would be there for us through every up, down, new house, new city, new tour, new travel. He welcomed new pups and loved on new babies and new bellies. He was there for everything. Every time I needed a taste tester, someone to kiss or needed to sob into his stinky rolls, he was there. It’s true what they say. We are their entire lives and it is the greatest shame that they can only bless us with a short spark of time in ours. I always knew I would lose a piece of me when he left us. I feel the hole now. I will love you forever, my boy. My heart aches. Thank you so much for everything, everything.”
