“All the sweet boys and girls at Go Fetch are like a little posse,” said Jacqueline Sexton. “Rogue loves to go and spend time with all her friends. It makes me feel good to know she has a place to go where she feels loved.”
In 2014, Ellen DeGeneres blessed the world with her Oscars selfie.
Then, in 2016, Manny the cat caused a Facebook meltdown and a Twitter tsunami with GoPro selfies of him and his boys just hanging out.
Now, a pack of pooch besties at Go Fetch Dog Daycare and Boarding in Loveland, Ohio, are redefining #squadgoals in the latest viral selfie to rock the Internet.
Here’s more from What’s 11 ABC:
Jacqueline Sexton shared the photo to the Stray Animal Adoption Program Facebook group after she noticed Rogue, the Labrador mix she adopted from the Northern Kentucky animal rescue, was the one that appeared to be “taking” the photo.
“Doesn’t it look like she’s taking a selfie with all her friends?” Sexton asked.
The photo, which was originally posted March 30 by Go Fetch, has received 1,700 reactions and hundreds of comments since being posted in the group Sunday.
Believe it or not, the photo wasn’t staged.
Matt Ramsey, the owner of Go Fetch, said the dogs gather unprompted at the gate in the daycare’s open play area. No call for treats, no promises to go outside.
They’re just that cooperative, he said.
Because many of the same dogs come to Go Fetch on a regular basis — Ramsey estimated he sees between 50 and 100 each day, depending on the season — they get along well with one another, which makes photos like this a lot easier to take.
Sometimes you just literally have to take a few minutes to stop and smell the roses. Or in this day and age, it’s more like “stop and enjoy the dog pics!” But seriously, we’ve all got appointments to keep and kids to raise and grocery store trips to make… But this is a great day: you are alive, the sun is shinning, and there is infinite possibility just over the horizon.
So smile! And then go share that joy with someone you love… or a stranger!
Do you love all of God’s beautiful creatures?
