Dobermans are the stereotypical dog they use in movies to portray a guard dog. That’s because the Doberman Pinscher was developed in Germany during the late 19th century, primarily as a guard dog. The exact ancestry is unknown, but it’s believed to be a mixture of many dog breeds, including the Rottweiler, Black and Tan Terrier, and German Pinscher.
It’s because of their fierce looks, lean body and large jaws. For this reason, a lot of people fear Dobermans.
In reality, most of them are gentle giants and can get along well with any loving family.
There’s one Doberman who is really acting out of character. His best friend is a horse, and the best friends are nearly inseparable.
