Jake and Maggie were placed at the Furry Friends Refuge in Des Moines, Iowa for six months.  The shelter is no-kill…

Maggie has been by Jake’s side his entire life.  She helps lead him wherever he goes at the shelter.  Maggie acts as sort of a guide dog for Jake…

Workers at the shelter are inspired by their unbreakable bond.  They say that Jake uses his hearing and powerful sense of smell to guide him…

UPDATE: Luckily, a family decided to adopt the pair!  The shelter workers were sad to see them go.  They enjoyed their mellow vibe and loving personalities.
